| What is the WSYA?
The World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) is an international competition
for online youth-led projects.
Why should I enter my project?
Easy. Instant global recognition by heads of state, business leaders,
UN officials and civil society. Invaluable networking through WSYA
promotion to provide sustainability and long-term funding for your
project. A chance for travel fellowships to the UN World Summit
on the Information Society held in beautiful Tunisia (November 16-18,
2005). Media promotion in print, television, radio and online outlets.
How can I get involved if I don’t have a project?
You can help spread the word by downloading our press releases and
sending the WSYA Overview across your networks. You can also get
involved with the WSIS Youth Caucus (www.wsisyouth.org)
and attend the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunisia
(November 14-16, 2005). We encourage you to alert other youth-led
projects to apply
Who can apply to the WSYA?
All young people under the age of 27 at the time of submission with
an online platform in one of the three WSYA categories (Development,
Creativity & Culture, Community Engagement).
What do the winners get?
The winners of each category will be celebrated at the World Summit
Award Gala at the WSIS in Tunis on November 16th 2005 and the opportunity
to showcase their project at the “Future is Now” Workshop
on November 17th, 2005. In addition, the runners-up in each category
will receive travel fellowships to WSIS in Tunisia as delegates.
In which categories can I enter my project?
Your project has to be an online platform addressing one of the
following areas: Development, Creativity & Culture, or Community
Engagement.
When can I submit a project?
The online application process will run from July 18 – September
18, 2005. You ca access the application form here.
Winners will be notified by October 17, 2005.
What’s the damage? $$$
Nada, Zero, Nichts! So you have no excuse not to enter your project!
What languages are allowed?
The product interface can be in any language but the online application
form and entry process must be in English.
When is the deadline for submission?
Projects may be submitted until midnight (GMT) on September 18,
