Dylan Mahalingam is one of the co-founders of Lil' MDGs, a unique international development and youth empowerment organization; Lil' MDGs is now an initiative of Jayme's Fund. Dylan founded Lil' MDGs, a non-profit based in New Hampshire, when he was 9 years old. Lil' MDGs mission is to leverage the power of the Internet, digital, and social media to educate, engage, inspire, and empower children in all corners of the world to forward the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Lil' MDGs has mobilized over 3 million children worldwide to work on a variety of issues and now has more than 24,000 regular volunteers hailing from 41 countries. Together, they have made a tangible difference in the lives of over one million individuals worldwide!
Dylan is a youth speaker for the United Nations, a Chief Strategist and Project Ambassador for Under the Acacia, is on the Board of Directors for the Nestle Very Best in Youth Foundation, is on the Advisory Board for Jayme's Fund for Social Justice and Komodo MDGs, and travels internationally to speak at official UN conferences, summits, schools, and various youth groups.
The recipient of numerous international and national honors, Dylan was recognized as one of Teen People's past "20 teens that will change the world." Dylan has also been recognized by The Most Rev. Dr. Desmond Mpilo Tutu, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, as well by three U.S. Presidents. Dylan is currently 15 years old and is a sophomore at Pinkerton Academy.
