Prof. Bruck launched three global awards for best practice in new media: The World Summit Award (WSA), the World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) and the World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-mobile). The WSA was set up as a follow-up to the UN World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and supports specifically the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through the use of ICTs. This award is the international benchmark for excellence in digital contents ranging from websites and apps to interactive installations.
The World Summit Youth Award was brought into being in 2005. It is aimed at young people who use new media in order to advance the UN MDGs.
Prof. Bruck works as the CEO and Chief Researcher of the Research Studios Austria Forschungsgesellschaft. He studied at the universities of Vienna, Iowa and at McGill, Montreal, and holds doctorates in law and communications, and master degrees in sociology and economics. Prof. Bruck has held professorships at universities in Canada and Europe and continues some teaching as Honorary Professor of Information Economy and New Technologies at the University of Salzburg. Prof. Bruck has received numerous awards, fellowships and grants in Europe, the US and Canada and is listed in the Canadian and Austrian WHO'S WHO. He has founded the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg and three national research organizations in Canada and Austria in the area of media/ICT, innovation and technology. As a media and communications scholar, Prof. Bruck has published and edited numerous books, research reports and scholarly as well as professional articles. As a media producer, Prof. Bruck has worked in newspapers, radio, TV and digital interactive media. In business, Prof. Bruck has been among others for two years on the Board of Management as Chief Content Officer of the Telekom Austria Group.

Charlotte Dreyer is project manager of the World Summit Youth Award (WSYA), an international contest and network of young social entrepreneurs who use Technology and new media to take action on the UN Millennium Development Goals.Before joining the ICNM in spring 2013, Charlotte has been working for 3 years in Egypt with prominent local marketing and communications agency as head of the Public Relations Department and Business Development Manager.
After graduating in 2009 with an Integrated M.A. in Applied Language and Culture Sciences with specialization in International Relations, Political Science and Translation,she started her career as representative of the Middle East office of the German “Marburg University” with the German Academic Exchange Service in Cairo.Charlotte has many years experience in event-management, communications and project management and speaks 4 languages (Arabic, English, French and German).
